Aegean Cereals Legumes and Oil Seeds Exporters’ Association was founded in 1940 and has more than 330 members. Main export products are grain mill products (wheat flour, starch, semolina), confectionery products, biscuits, waffles, cakes, pasta, oily seeds, vegetable oils (sunflower oil, margarine), chocolate and cacao, candy, halva, Turkish delight, gum, oil seeds, cereals, pulses, soy bean, yeast, and spices (anise, fennel, coriander). 

The pulses among produced in our country, the mains are chickpeas, beans and lentils. Turkey is the main producer and exporter of Bulgur, ranks second in the world in terms of exportation of pasta. The main oil seeds produced in our country are sunflower seed and cotton seed. Turkey is one of the leading sunflower seed producer country in the world. 

One of the most important vegetable oil is sunflower oil industry in Turkey. Also, sugar and chocolate confectionery sector has developing distribution channels, new product developments and increasing multinational investments. Turkish exporters are highly equipped to meet international standards and consumer preferences. As a result, Turkey's chocolate and confectionery industry is integrated with the world economy.

From the being the homeland of first cultivating and processing experience of wheat, today Turkey reached the point of becoming the biggest wheat flour with a share of 21% and second pasta exporter country in the world. Turkish pasta production was first established in Aegean region in the beginning of 20th century. 

Owing to Turkey's climatic and ecological conditions, many herbs and spices are cultivated or gathered from the natural vegetation like fennel, mahaleb and cultivated like cumin, anise seed, red pepper, fenugreek, fennel, nigelle and coriander.
